YFN Lucci Alive Amid False Death Rumors, Possible Early Release

YFN lucci

Reports circulating on social media suggesting the demise of YFN Lucci, the 33-year-old rapper, are entirely baseless. Contrary to these unfounded rumors, Lucci, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, is very much alive. His attorney, Drew Findling, confirmed his well-being, dispelling speculation sparked on Wednesday, September 18.

Lucci’s legal troubles have been the subject of public attention. In January, he accepted a plea deal in relation to gang-related charges, culminating in a 10-year prison sentence. This resolution came nearly three years after his initial indictment on serious accusations including murder, gang involvement, and racketeering, stemming from incidents in Atlanta. Despite these legal setbacks, rumors of his death are purely fictitious.

The conjecture surrounding Lucci’s fate may have been fueled by the recent death of his former labelmate, Rich Homie Quan. Dequantes Lamar, known professionally as Quan, tragically passed away earlier this month at the age of 34. His untimely death, discovered at his home, has left many in mourning, though no cause has been officially declared.

YFN lucci’s legal battles have been extensive. He was initially charged with murder in January 2021, accused of being the driver in a gang-related drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of a man. However, following protracted legal proceedings, a plea bargain saw 12 of the 13 charges against him dropped. He ultimately pleaded guilty to one count of violating Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

The legal team defending Lucci, including attorneys Drew Findling, Gabe Banks, and Marissa Goldberg, expressed their satisfaction with the outcome. “After three arduous years of pretrial litigation and a drawn-out jury selection process, the prosecution finally dropped the murder and RICO charges,” they stated. “Mr. Bennett has consistently maintained his stance—he will not collaborate in any other case.”

Lucci’s plea agreement, finalized on January 23, 2024, resulted in a 10-year prison term, along with an additional 10 years of probation. Importantly, his time behind bars has already been counted as time served, making his stay in prison potentially shorter than expected. Furthermore, in an unexpected move, the District Attorney of Fulton County submitted a letter to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles advocating for his early release. His release could happen as soon as January 2025.

Drew Findling commented on the unusual nature of the District Attorney’s actions, stating, “The District Attorney took an unprecedented step. That letter carries significant weight and, combined with supporting documents, has been submitted to the parole board in pursuit of early release.”

While Lucci’s legal journey is far from over, the false rumors about his death have been thoroughly debunked, and his potential for early release remains a topic of interest.
